Can ExpensePlus automatically calculate my mileage?

ExpensePlus enables you to accurately record mileage quickly and efficiently.

You can record multiple journeys within the same claim, and copy journey details for repeat journeys.

Within ExpensePlus you can set up multiple mileage rates removing the need to calculate how much to claim - you can just enter the number of miles driven.

ExpensePlus provides an audit trail, should mileage claims ever need to be checked or queried:

• Finance Team users can view a mileage report for the whole organisation.
• Individuals can view their mileage claims by viewing their purchases and filtering by purchase type if they download it as CSV.

Mileage distance

When entering a mileage claim, the user needs to enter a start and end location for each journey, as well as enter the miles driven.

ExpensePlus doesn't automatically calculate the number of miles for you.

Often there are multiple route options for any given journey - some routes being shorter and other routes being quicker and roadworks / accidents / diversions that may alter the route.

Tracking app

Some organisations (particularly those who have staff who drive lots of miles) let staff use a tracking app such as https://www.mileiq.com to automatically track journeys made. There are lots of other mileage tracking apps available.

This automates the collection of journey details, enabling staff to simply submit a monthly  'Expense Claim' within ExpensePlus, and attach the automatically generated report from the journey tracker app as a receipt. Essentially this enables staff to submit accurate claims in bulk, without having to record as many journey details.
