LoveGiving fundraising campaigns
LoveGiving is an easy-to-use giving platform used by Churches and Charities to accept online donations and claim Gift Aid.

Setting up LoveGiving is quick and easy. Within LoveGiving, you can customise which funds donors can give to, including the ability to:
- Decide which funds appear on your LoveGiving page
- Customise the names of the funds that appear
- Specify whether donations to each fund can be Gift Aided
- Create a direct giving link to a particular fund
- Setup a LoveGiving Campaign

What is a fundraising campaign?
During a fundraising campaign, a church or charity aims to raise an amount of money for a specific purpose. Donors are then encouraged to make a contribution.
Using LoveGiving to manage your fundraising campaigns will provide your donors with an easy way to take part and donate to your fundraising campaign.
It is quick to set up, simple to administrate, and Gift Aid is automated.
LoveGiving Campaigns enable you to:
- Specify a campaign period
- Set a campaign target (either with or without Gift Aid)
- Track progress towards the goal that has been set
- Record an additional amount for donors who donate outside of LoveGiving
- Display to donors the % progress towards the campaign target within your LoveGiving page
Setting up a LoveGiving campaign
Within the LoveGiving module, click the 'Manage LoveGiving Campaigns' option.
In order to set up LoveGiving Campaigns, you need to first set up LoveGiving.
To add a new campaign, click the 'Add New' button at the top of the Manage LoveGiving Campaigns screen:
Within the popup, give your campaign a name, then select which fund it relates to, set your campaign start and end dates, set a target amount and decide whether or not the amount includes Gift Aid or not:
You can only select funds that have been enabled for LoveGiving, so if you are not seeing the fund you wish to select in the pop-up, click here to check that the fund has been enabled within the LoveGiving settings screen.
Tracking Progress towards campaign goals
It's easy to track giving in live time within the 'Manage LoveGiving Campaigns' screen:
On the LoveGiving donations page, donors will see the campaign target, the amount given and the % towards the goal:
Donors can only view goals and progress for funds that have an active LoveGiving Campaign. After the end date of a campaign, donors will still be able to donate (as long as you don't deactivate the fund from appearing on LoveGiving), but they will no longer see the campaign goal or progress.
Recording additional amounts given
LoveGiving campaign totals automatically include all donations given via LoveGiving within the period set for the LoveGiving Campaign to the fund specified.
To include donations given outside of LoveGiving, you can add the total manually. To do this, within the Manage LoveGiving Campaigns screen, simply click on the 'Additions' cell of the campaign.
You can update the amount specified if the amount given outside of LoveGiving changes, however for easy administration, it's best to ask donors to give via LoveGiving when running fundraising campaigns.
Editing and deactivating campaigns
To edit a campaign within the Manage LoveGiving Campaigns screen, simply click on the campaign you wish to edit.
On the Setup LoveGiving page, you can add a description to a fund selected for LoveGiving. Just click into the fund. This description will appear for any campaigns linked to that fund. See the image below.
To deactivate a campaign, click the 'X' button to the right of the campaign.
Goals and progress won't display on your LoveGiving page for campaigns that are deactivated.
If you want to reactivate a deactivated campaign, just click the 'Manage Deactivated' button at the top of the Manage LoveGiving Campaigns screen, then click the 'tick' button to the right of the campaign you wish to reactivate.
