Can I use donor management features for non-donors?
This article explains how the donor management features in ExpensePlus can be used for non-donors within your organisation.
Donor management features
The donor management features in ExpensePlus can be used for more than donors.
For example, you may wish to track newsletter subscribers - you can import or add these in ExpensePlus, and track their communication permission.

Within the Manage Donors module of ExpensePlus, you can:
- Tag individuals
- Record communication
- Track engagement, including attendance or registration at events
- Download data for mailmerge letters
Whilst these features do refer to donors, they can be used for all individuals added to the Manage Donors module, whether they give financially to your organisation or not. ExpensePlus is a great solution for keeping track of communication and engagement across your organisation's database.
In addition to this, for the donors who do give, you can:
How do I import my contacts?
For the additional contacts you wish to add, you can use the Import Donors feature. This will enable you to import the names of people you want to add (you can ignore the 'Gift Aid Start Date' column for these contacts). Once imported, you will then be able to add additional details for the fields that are not possible to import.
Don't import records for any donors that already exist in ExpensePlus. You may need to remove any individuals from the list of contacts you want to import who are donors that already exist within ExpensePlus. Otherwise, you are going to end up with duplicates.
